Sports Bug FortnightFor the 5th year running, The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead are running their Sports Bug Fortnight across the borough from Saturday 15th May until Friday 28th May 2010. Over the Fortnight sports clubs and groups are given the opportunity to advertise and promote their club sessions through the free Sports Bug brochure RBWM compile and distribute. The hope is to show local people the huge variety of sports on offer in the borough and encourage them to come to free taster /s sessions over that fortnight then if they enjoy it, hopefully become a member of that club.
The sessions can be targeted at any age from child through to adult and the hope is that the community will have a wide selection of sessions for all abilities to choose from to kick start their introduction into sport, whether it is trying sport for the first time, having a go at a different sport or coming back into sport after a break.
As well as having the opportunity to promote their sessions, clubs are also offered the opportunity to get some one-to-one support from the Sports Development Team (subject to availability). Areas of club support include finding funding opportunities, supporting club accreditation and volunteer recruitment. For junior sports clubs there is also an opportunity to talk about club-school links.

Woodley Westcoast acheieves ClubMark accreditation

Berkshire Sport awarded licence to accredit
