Here is some information on the plans that Local Authorities and other organisations are planning revolving around the games.

Slough

1. Annual Fun Run – One mile fun run held in Salt Hill Park targeting 1,000 participants (March)
2. Gifted and Talented Day – Disability sports event in partnership with the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead and Bracknell Forest Council held at Thames Valley Athletics Centre (May)
3. 2012 Open Weekend – Free access to the main five leisure sites in the borough to participate in Olympic sports taster sessions (July)
4. National Play Day – Annual event for young people held in Salt Hill Park promoting participation in cultural and sports activities(August)
5. Slough Sport’s Clubs Market Place Event – Over 30 Slough based sports clubs will converge at Montem leisure centre to promote their sports and membership to their clubs through taster session. Marketing will be aimed at schools with parents encouraged to come along and participate too (October)
