Our Purpose, Vision & Values

 

Partners in Berkshire Sport currently include:

Local Authorities, School Sports Partnerships, National Governing Bodies of Sport and County Associations, Sport England, and a Support Team to aid the development of partnership working in the key agreed areas. It is expected that more partners will be developed

The Purpose of Berkshire Sport is:

'To work together in genuine partnership to help the people of Berkshire to start, stay and succeed in sport and physical activity at every level'.
The Vision of Berkshire Sport is:

  An effective partnership for inspiring passion for sport & activity

 

The Values of Berkshire Sport are:

  • People centred: The requirements of the Berkshire community are central to our activities.
  • Inclusive:  Ensuring that everyone can access sport and physical activity, regardless of ability, age, race, gender, socio-economic status or religious belief. 
  • Integrity: Maintaining an honest and supportive environment. Giving as well as receiving.
  • Outcome oriented: Continuously challenging and seeking to improve on our achievements and demonstrate value for money.
  • Fun and Safe: Key ingredients to ensure sustainability

 The Strategic Aims of Berkshire are:

  • To significantly increase a measurable and sustainable level of quality sport and activity throughout Berkshire.
  • To develop player centred development pathways, supported by a strong network of quality clubs, coaches, officials and volunteers.
  • To effectively communicate the applications, benefits and achievements of quality sport and activity on the widest possible agenda.

The Desired Strategic Outcomes are:

 
1) Current provision of sport, recreation and physical activity identified across Berkshire through research and data gathering.
 
2) All participants and players needs identified and met through a clear pathway of opportunity.
 
3) Workforce, both paid and unpaid invested in and developed, to ensure they are fit for purpose to support the player and participant pathway.
 
4) Quality assurance systems and guidelines established, agreed and maintained across the partnership
 
5) Berkshire Sport works to agreed national standards and guidelines.
 
6) Sports intervention opportunities identified and developed to enhance health, well-being, equity and social cohesion.
 
7) Clear communication systems established throughout the partnership and it's stakeholders.
 
8) Clear Monitoring, evaluation and review systems established and managed for all partnership areas of work.
