Cheerleading

Cheerleading is an athletic discipline practised worldwide and incorporating jumps, dance, tumbling, stunts, cheers and chants under the 3 distinct activities:
* Cheerleading
* Cheer Dance
* Pom Dance
UKCA are proud to announce the new 4th discipline of Cheerleading - Street Cheer (An exciting fusion of Street Dance & Cheerleading)
Which Organisation do British Gymnastics Endorse?
The Governing Body for Cheerleading is the United Kingdom Cheerleading Association (UKCA) who, from January 2008 have been working in partnership with British Gymnastics to transfer its activities to become a new discipline of British Gymnastics. Please note that their are various cheerleading organisations so please do not presume that they are UKCA trained. If you are wishing to check that a coach you employ or work with is UKCA trained then please ask for a) a copy of their certificate b) their UKCA number and c) where they took the course. If you need further verification then please email myself. As a representative of English Gymnastics I am happy to support any projects that follow the UKCA framework.
