Business Objectives
- Receive, interpret and disseminate communications from national and regional organisations and represent the views of sporting organisations in Berkshire to national and regional organisations
Berkshire Sport will be the trusted main contact between sport and physical activity national organisations and the local Berkshire networks in respect to core key work areas. Berkshire Sport will identify local networks and link them to key sports and physical activity partners at national and regional levels to build focused and effective engagement. Berkshire Sport will filter and deliver appropriate message services through communication networks, local conferences and workshops.
- Provide a comprehensive sports information service for individuals and organisations in Berkshire.
Berkshire Sport will work to make sure that more people from Berkshire are informed, enthused and engaged to enjoy more sport more often. Through being the preferred primary source to channel and cascade sport to the community Berkshire Sport will deliver information databases and communication networks/channels for the purposes of informing, market research, market segmentation and resource identification. Berkshire Sport having the strategic overview of all sports activity across the county will also analyse infrastructure and promote availability.
- Identify the gaps in sporting opportunities in Berkshire and seek additional resources to commission services to meet local needs.
Berkshire Sport will be a top county for participation in sport and physical activity. To achieve this Berkshire Sport will work in partnership with National Governing Bodies of Sports and relevant sporting/physical activity agencies to establish buy in to expand and increase capacity and opportunity in the sports clubs networks, facilities, coaching and volunteering development which will deliver clear pathways for Berkshire residents to access opportunity to grow, sustain and excel, be healthiest over 50 population and in the top 10% providers of Olympian’s and Paralympians. Berkshire Sport will also explore, identify and access resources through commissioned or contracted processes with other agencies to enable, facilitate and build more provision, infrastructure and participation in Berkshire.
