RBWM sports bursaries for players and coaches plus the lifetime achievement award!


Player Bursary Award
Are you an aspiring athlete?
Do you need help with:
-Coaching Fees
-Purchase of Equipment and clothing to assist with sports performance
-Training Courses
-Travelling expenses


We offer awards of up to £250 to help young people with their training costs to gain local, national and international recognition in their sport. The Award Scheme has been established to acknowledge young people’s sporting achievements.

The Coach Bursary Award scheme aims to acknowledge the vital contribution coaches
make to sport and aims to raise the profile of coaches as well as enhancing coach education
in the Royal Borough. The Bursaries are awarded to people from all sports and
are aiming to help towards:
- Coaching Courses
- Purchase of equipment and clothing to assist with sports coaching
- Travelling Expenses

Lifetime Achievement Award
The Lifetime Achievement award is presented once a year to an individual who has made a significant contribution to sport within the Royal Borough over a number of years. Deadline Date 11th August 2011.


Previous winners include:
2005- Gina MacGregor MBE for services to Netball across the borough
2006-Richard Butler from Phoenix Gymnastics Club for his contribution to gymnastics over the last 20
years.
2007-Trevor Collins from Windsor Judo Club for his contribution to judo over the last 20 years.
2008-Ray Fields, Former Director of Sport WAMDSAD (Windsor Ascot Maidenhead District Sports
Association for the Disabled) for his contribution to disability sport over the last 30 years.
2009-Pat Capp for her contribution to sport in the borough over the last 33 years.
2010– Fred Furneaux for his contribution to sport in Hurley for
the last 34 years.

The daily Telegraph and RBS join forces to support local sport!

Enter your sports club for a £1,000 grant!! In partnership with RBS, The Daily Telegraph is aiming to support sport at a local level through the launch of its Sport for You grant. For your chance to earn a grant, tell us about your amateur sports club.

Reading Golf Club Recieve Funding!

The English Golf Union (EGU) and English Women’s Golf Association (EWGA) are offering funding to golf clubs that have been awarded the GolfMark (Clubmark) accreditation - www.golfmark.org. This Grant gives golf clubs the flexibility and financial support to run sessions and activities for adults and juniors, which will help increase participation and sustain involvement in the game.
